The KHES "Allama Rashad CHC" Background (2002 - 2022)
The KAREZ Health & Educational Services (KHES) NPO, was established on (Apr 1, 2002) with the help of some benevolent Afghans and Japanese in Shizuoka, Japan and has officially started practically working in Kandahar - Afghanistan since July of the same year, which has been providing services in these two portions (Health and Education) to the best of its ability, the headquarters of the organization is in Shizuoka, Japan and its national branch (office) and clinic are in Kandahar City, Afghanistan. The main purpose, in order to take part in the rehabilitation of the war-broken country Afghanistan through the health activities and education of the children. KHES obtained NGO registration number (162) from the Ministry of Economy (MoE) inside the country Afghanistan on (Jun 25, 2002), started health activities in the central part of Kandahar City on (Jul 20, 2002), also obtained registration number from the Economy Department of Kandahar province on (Oct 6, 2002), obtained re-registration number (78) from the Ministry of Economy (MoE) of Afghanistan in the list of foreign organizations on (Oct 6, 2005), built the Allama Rashad Comprehensive Health Center's building in Aino Meena area of Kandahar City in (Apr, 2008), started health activities through Health Posts (HPs) under its catchment area in (Jan, 2009), built a school building for Haji Nika school in Haji Aziz area of Kandahar City in (Aug, 2009), obtained registration number (215) from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) inside the country Afghanistan on (Oct 10, 2010), obtained certification in Japan as a candidate Non - Profit Organization (NPO) in (Oct, 2013), obtained re-registration number (537) from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan on (Sep 26, 2017), obtained certification in Japan as an approved (NPO) in (Oct, 2017), obtained third-registration number (692) from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan on (Sep 26, 2020), and obtained cooperation agreement from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Afghanistan on (May 30, 2022).
Unit of the health service of the KHES for the past 20 years (2002 - 2022): KHES "Allama Rashad Comprehensive Health Center" Clinic in Kandahar is providing medical examination by doctors, various clinical tests by specialized laboratory technicians, birth assistance and prenatal and postnatal care by midwives, vaccination, public health and nutrition educations, supporting health posts in catchment area, mental health and nutrition consultations, free supply of medicines and others.
Free OPD treatment to (725608) patients, health education to (549622) individuals, lab-examination to (360800) patients, health services through CHWs to (409437) individuals in (14) HPs under its catchment area, X-ray for (29305) patients, vaccine to (248095) children and (64002) female, (5379) Suspect-TB and treatment of (509) smear positive, Lash-mania treatment to (144) patients, E.C.G to (1848) patients, ultrasound to (7236) patients, delivery service to (2991) mothers, family planning to (17879) female, health management of (938) students at Haji Nika school, and lots more health services have been provided by KHES.
Unit of the education service of the KHES for the past 20 years (2002 - 2022): In (2002), after receiving the permission letter, two days a week (Mobile Health Team) performed health services in different villages of 7 districts of Kandahar province. In addition to health services in these villages, educational services have also been provided for (6358) boys and girls students of primary schools to the third grade under the blue sky or in camps, which has continued till the end of the (Oct, 2006). In continuation of this series, in (Aug, 2009) the building of Haji Nika school was built through the mediation of the KHES and with the donation (financial support) of the Japanese Embassy. As well as, after two years, eight toilets have been built for the same school with the donation (financial support) of the KHES, which sometimes some of the needs of this school are provided at the request of the officials and teachers of the school.
From 2002 to 2021, 686,806 patients were treated free of charge in the OPD department, more than 50% of whom were women; therefore, the activities of female nurses are essential. We look forward to your support, help and donations to provide free health services to the citizens and villagers of Kandahar City.
In 2023, there were 34,190 patients, more than 60% of whom were women; therefore, the activities of female nurses are essential.
The clinic provides 24-hour birth assistance, prenatal and postnatal care, newborn care, vaccinations, and other maternal and child health activities.
